Nectarine harvest begins in April, peaks in July, and ends in
September. The many varieties allow us to deliver fresh nectarines throughout the
summer. One characteristic all nectarines share is that touch, not skin color, is
the key to ripeness. To achieve the perfect touch, place nectarines in a lightly
closed paper bag and store at room temperature. When they soften slightly, they are ready
to eat. Generally, yellow nectarines have the fullest flavor while
white nectarines are the sweetest. Try them! The flavor of
nectarines is distinctly different from that of peaches.
